15 Jun Why buy an electric heat pump for your pool?
Have you ever gazed forlornly at your swimming pool during winter and autumn and wished that the water were warm enough to swim in? Or perhaps become frustrated about having to clean your pool all year, while only swimming in it for 6 months of the year? And have you ever wanted a low-cost solution to these problems? Well an electric heat pump just might be the answer you’ve been looking for.
At Eco Solar Pool Heating, we can install a range of electric heat pumps for swimming pools, whether for a family pool, resort, or large commercial pool.
Wouldn’t you like to swim all year round?
If you own a pool, then you know the pain of wasted hours spent cleaning it and wasted money on pool chemicals for the cooler months of the year when no one wants to swim.
For those who live in Queensland, the non-swimming period might only be 3 months or so, but if you live in Melbourne or Hobart, this can stretch out to 9 months of the year! And pools can be expensive things to run if they are not fulfilling their potential.
An electric heat pump allows you to extend your swimming season to an all-year-round event. Even in the dead of winter, a heat pump will make the water a lot more welcoming.
What are the other benefits of an electric heat pump?
Being able to swim comfortably all year round is a big plus, but it’s not the only benefit of installing an electric heat pump.
At Eco Solar Pool Heating, we stock electric heat pumps from AstralPool that are:
- efficient
- cheap to run
- environmentally friendly.
How does an electric heat pump work?
Here’s the deal:
An electric heat pump draws latent heat from the air and uses it to warm your pool. It does so by using renewable energy and an environmentally safe refrigerant gas. It’s a similar principle to how air conditioners and refrigerators work.
Electric heat pumps do use a small amount of electricity as well, but this is not used to create heat (which usually sucks a lot of power). Instead, it is used to compress and move gas around the system.
